Post race message from the organiser, Eric Tollner.
Hi everyone
Firstly, another HUGE thank you for coming out to enjoy the day with us. Again we were blessed with the most spectacular day, from clear skies, breathtaking views from all 3 beacons which is a real treat, bright colourful fynbos to give you an excuse to stop and catch your breath on the trails, and even some whales in the bay.
Thank you's:
A big round of thanks to everyone who helped make the run what it is -
To Christo and Leo of Adventure Inc, for their support and sponsorship provided through Montrail and Julbo - your involvement once again is sincerely appreciated, especially in making these great shirts possible!
To Linda and the crew at the Chapmans Peak Beach Hotel, for once again allowing us the space to use as base camp. The long history of the hotel in the village really adds a unique touch to the event and we deeply appreciate your involvement. Thank you too for the very generous meal vouchers and the 3-wine-bottle boxes, I know those will be enjoyed!
To Dave and Trish of Mountain Mail Order, for the pair of Montrails which were drawn at the end. It is another very generous offering and went to a very deserving recipient.
To Janette of JT, thank you again for your involvement - your clothing vouchers are much appreciated, and great to have you taking part again too!
There were just an overwhelming amount of spot prizes donated, we had everything from bottles of wine, to body massages, and even a Canon lazer printer. I know in trying to mention every one I will miss one out somewhere, so in fairness, I thank you all very much, for so generously contributing these prizes to the draw, I know that every single one of those prizes will be much enjoyed! To everyone also who contributed to Parks, all the small donations added up to R 330 which has been handed over for upkeep and improvement to the paths, thank you!
A very very very big thank you must also go to our two lovely ladies who looked after us all during the day. To Sonja and Lara, we are indebted to you for your time, patience, and constant smiles in keeping us going out there. It really is comforting, knowing I could head off with everyone else and that everything back at base would be running so smoothly.
And last but not least, to all of you who took part, be it one mountain, two, or all three, it really is all of you that make the event what it is, tackling the run in the spirit in which it is intended. I thoroughly enjoyed meeting you all along the way, and it was great to see so many smiles despite the pain! Thank you for making it such a special day.
Race times:
This year we must extend a big congratulations to Leo Rust for being the first runner in under 5 hours, blizting an hour and 9 minutes off the previous record! His impressive 4:55 is a superb effort, finishing a mere 7 minutes behind the first team. In the process he shattered all the records for the individual peaks, and has certainly created a new standard for the Triple. Congrats also to Sean, Jorg, and Rob of Team Norfolk & Chance, also setting a new record in a brilliant time of 4:48, with Rob setting a new record for the Chapmans Peak leg, and Jeremy of Team Brad-Pitt-Lookalikes setting a new record on Judas Peak. Well done also to our first lady in, Janette, finishing in an impressive 6:34.
Congrats also to Wendy Sorrell, on her 50th birthday, thanks for sharing your day with us! I am sorry to have missed it but I believe there was a nice suprise waiting for you after your run!
Hard luck to Tonni and Brandin for having to withdraw after a gutsy effort to finish two peaks, but we look forward to having you back next year to settle the score!

Photos & Website:
Unfortunately we were without an official photographer this year, but many of you were out there snapping away so please do send through your pics.
Thanks also to Barry Washkansky for popping up on Chapmans peak to get some photos - his photos and the results will be posted up on his website, www.hikecapetown.co.za. Every year Barry has some excuse for not taking part, until he finally gets it together to run we will always be appreciative of his efforts behind the camera!
Well, thats it from me folks. One last word - everything from the broad smiles I saw on everyones faces when I bumped into you out there, to the generousity extended through so many contributions to the run, both through the spot prizes and Lara and Sonja in giving of their time, is just so typical of the amazing spirirt that is so alive within our closely-knit trail running community. And I am very proud to be a part of this family! Thanks again for making Saturday such a great one and looking forward to having you along again next year.
Take care and see you on the trails
Eric
